IS THIS FOR REAL????

I was only a few months old when the '76 Bucs went 0-14. I was 4 years old when the '80 Saints went 1-15. And I was 13 years old when the '89 Cowboys went 1-15 (whom I still consider the worst team in my lifetime). But come Sunday, all these teams will earn a sense of pride if the Detroit Lions don't accomplish something they haven't done since my Sophmore year in High School--beat the Packers on the road!!!

It is hard to believe that this is happening, because on paper this team--while not playoff material--should be good for 6 wins. After all, this is a team that started 6-2 last year, and has proceeded to lose 22 of their last 23 games since. In an age of parody, it is disgraceful to see teams only win 1 game, let alone none. But if we are real with ourselves, we had to see this coming eventually. The Lions have been one of the worst run organizations in sports since 2001, and maybe this needs to happen to show William Clay Ford that there are more problems around him than the economic hit on his automotive company.

I never thought I would see this team go through a darker period than the Darryl Rogers days, but it is happening. Is it truly possible that a team, that has Steve Folsom and Steve Walsh as starters, can put it together better than a team with Daunte Culpepper and Calvin Johnson? Apparently, this might be the case come Sunday.

But fret not Lions fans, even if you lose Sunday and go 0-16, you would have to start 0-10 next year to break Tampa's 26-game losing streak. And that truly is not going to happen.....or could it????
